What can you expect when coming in for a DNA paternity test at Fas-Tes®?

1. The party to be tested will visit our friendly clinic, typically the party will include the alleged father, the child and the mother. ( If the mother is not available, Fas-Tes® can still conduct the DNA collection on the child and alleged father) The mother's dna in testing is very helpful because it helps eliminates half of the child's DNA in testing. (Fas-Tes® is part of the largest network of collection sites in the US for DNA collections, so if the mother, alleged father or child are in different states, we can still conduct the DNA paternity testing for a small additional DNA collection fee.)

2. Fas-Tes® will utilize 4 buccal swabs per donor, which look like long cotton swabs.  We simply swab the inside of the cheek in a painless dna collection process and seal these specimens up while following a strict chain of custody process.

3. Next we take a photo of the donors and make a photo copy of personal identification such as drivers license or birth certificates. Birth certificates and ID are not required on children.

4. Last we thumb print the donors and fill out a small amount of paperwork before sealing all of the contents up and getting signatures. (We overnight all specimens to the lab for immediate testing)

DNA tests conducted have at least a 99.9% probability of paternity. Our goal is to schedule a time that works well for the mother, child and alleged father to collect the DNA specimens. Fas-Tes® offers a paternity DNA test option that is not legally defensible in court, for individuals that want an alternative DNA testing option.
